BILLIE SCHWAB DUNN
Pop Culture & Entertainment Reporter
I'm Billie, an Aussie journalist based in London who started writing as soon as I learned how to hold a pen.
Over the years my work has appeared in print and online for publications such as Newsweek, Cosmopolitan, POPSUGAR, Metro.co.uk, Business Insider and Stylist, and I have also appeared on radio for the BBC.
Throughout my career, I have extensively covered pop culture, entertainment, politics, women's rights and lifestyle topics. I have shared the stories of women who have been stalked and sex trafficked, researched the abuse that allegedly happened behind the scenes at Nickelodeon and interviewed various celebrities, including Ben Stiller, Jude Law, Billy Crystal, Judith Light and Brenda Song.
A little bit more about me…
After studying Media (Communications & Journalism) at the University of New South Wales, I joined the Astray writing internship in Bali. Days were spent being given intensive writing tutelage focused on travel and digital media, as well as cross-cultural language training.
Once back home, I scored a job at Daily Mail Australia where I cut my teeth as a lifestyle reporter for Femail. Here my articles went viral internationally and I was featured as a presenter in their Only in Australia video series on Facebook.
After relocating to London in 2019, I worked as a copywriter for a creative agency before working for various media publications, including the ones mentioned above.
I dress how I live (as colourfully as possible), enjoy extra dirty vodka martinis (no vermouth, please) and love to spend my weekends dancing the night away.
Oh, and ever so often, I post to my newsletter, Billie’s Baby.
